HUMAN WAVE 2024 Wrap-up

Conscripts and Fellow Travelers,

We had another great tournament this weekend. Thanks to everyone for coming and having fun leading your cardboard warriors to victory (or defeat). Here’s a quick recap:

  • Our own John Gorkowski won the tournament with a 3-0 record, narrowly defeating Neil Stanhagen ASL 171 Possl’s Posse, in the early morning hours Saturday night / Sunday morning.
  • Neil earned a second place finish, winning as the Germans in WO33 One-Eyed Jacques and as the Russians in ASL275 Village of the Damned.
  • Brian Youse and Curt Schilling from MMP made an appearance to playtest some upcoming releases.
  • Our honorary “toast” and raffle was another success.
  • We had players come in from as far as Wisconsin, Kentucky and the Carolinas to play with us. And curiously enough, an ASL player from Britain happened to be staying the hotel this weekend and came by to say hello. Phil — next time you’re in town you’ll have to set aside some time to play with us! Thank you to all the visitors for joining!
  • We received positive feedback about the new venue and location and hope to play at Fair Oaks again next year.
  • A special thanks goes out to all those who helped make this year’s tournament possible: John Stadick, our Tournament Director, and to Dave Wiesenhahn, John Gorkowski, Stephen Frum and others for helping out behind the scenes to make the event a success.

See you next year!

Game Results Uploaded to ASL Ratings

Conscripts and Fellow Travelers,

The technical committee is pleased to offer the following report:

“After days of work converting paper Player Information Sheets to ones and zeros, ordering each digit in its proper sequence and formatting, our technicians achieved a breakthrough and established communications with asl-ratings.org. This allows our tournament players to view their updated their online records in preparation for their next competition. Clearly this significant technical advance is another indication that our victory is inevitable! “

Players may view their updated records at http://asl-ratings.org/

Rocks Glasses

They’re back!

The highly sought-after Conscripts rocks glasses have returned for this year’s tournament. Featuring an incredible dual-use technology, the glasses can be used for “rolling low” against your opponent OR as a glass for your favorite beverage after the game. Field testing shows the glass should not be used for both roles simultaneously, however.

Due a manufacturing incident at Glass Factory #3, quantities are limited. Claim yours on the Registration page!
