It’s Almost Time!

We have two announcements:

Our HUMAN WAVE tournament starts tomorrow, Friday 11 July! We still have a few slots left so you can still register or walk-in this weekend.
Multiman Publishing is sponsoring our event again this year. Many thanks to MMP for offering a copy of Doomed Battalions for our raffle! This nicely boxed set retails for $172 and is a very substantial offering.

HUMAN WAVE 2025

Dear Conscripts and ASL brethren around the world,

The Planning Committee is pleased to announce that we have set the fundamentals for the 2025 HUMAN WAVE. Here are the basics:

WHAT: Our theme this year is “Early War” so we can feature scenarios from MMP’s “Doomed Battalions” and related action which took place during the 1939-1941 time period.

WHERE: We are planning to use the same venue as last year, the Marriott Hotel at Fair Oaks, in Fairfax, Virginia.

WHEN: 11-13 July 2025.

Registration and the scenario list will be published in due time. Mark your calendars now so we can plan to see you there!

First: The Central Committee has decided that the theme for the HUMAN WAVE 2023 will be — you guessed it — Human Waves in the “East” and the “Far East”. Scenarios will feature fighting on the East Front (Germany vs Russia) and the Far East (Japan vs USA).

Second: In light of the very positive feedback, the Logistics Committee is working to secure the same venue for next year. “Negotiations” are underway and the Committee is confident of a favorable outcome. The appropriate persons have been informed about rations and — as we are informed — will endeavor to ensure an adequate supply of vodka and caviar for next year.

We Have a Venue!

Conscripts and Fellow Travelers!

After an extensive search, the Logistics Committee settled on the Tysons Courtyard Marriott at 1960-A Chain Bridge Rd McLean VA 22102 (Tysons Corner, Virginia) as the location of the 2022 HUMAN WAVE. The Central Committee, in the February Executive Session, approved the recommendation unanimously and directed the Logistics and Finance Committees to make all necessary arrangements to secure the venue.

In the view of the Central Committee, this venue has the benefits of:

Location — at the heart of Tysons Corner, less than a mile away from I-495, Metrorail, and two of the region’s largest shopping malls, Tysons 1 and Tysons 2 “the Galleria”. This provides convenient access from Maryland and points north as well as Virginia and the I-95 corridor.
The game room has more than enough space to easily accommodate 30 players while maintaining social distancing requirements.
Reasonably-priced game room and accommodations (for the DC area, that is) . Food and drink are available in the hotel and nearby.
*New for this year* Family-friendly location! Play ASL while your family engages in its bourgeoisie wishes at the malls and takes in the sights of nearby Washington DC!
